Our Story

Meet Jam, and a lifetime around horses.

Rise Again Riding School is about more than lessons. It is a complete horsemanship experience for all ages, where students learn to ride, to care for horses, and to carry that confidence into the rest of life. Behind it all is Jam Lee TePoel, who started riding at seven and had her first horse by twelve, growing up helping her family breed, raise, and train young horses.

Jam taught riding for 19 years in Virginia before moving to Phil Campbell in 2020. She is a certified instructor through the British Horse Society, with degrees in Animal Science and Biology, veterinary school training, a Master's in Agricultural Education, and Special Education training.

That background is why she is just as at home starting a nervous four-year-old as she is coaching a show rider, welcoming an anxious adult back to horses, or working with neurodivergent and special needs students.

Our mission is simple: a comprehensive riding and horsemanship experience for every age, in a fun, relaxed, and welcoming atmosphere, with safety at the heart of it all.

What We Offer

Programs for every rider, every age, every goal.

From first lessons to homeschool credit, camps, shows, and special events, there is a place here for your family.

01

Riding Lessons

English and Western lessons for ages three and a half to adults. Beginners build a solid seat, then grow into dressage, jumping, trail obstacles, or beginning barrel racing.

02

Horsemanship & Horse Care

Unmounted instruction in equine science, horse care, behavior, and handling, plus natural horsemanship, lunging, and ground work. Real skills, not just saddle time.

03

Homeschool Programs

Homeschool horsemanship classes, Horse Powered Reading, and an interactive Horse Math curriculum. Hands-on learning with horses, and students can earn credit.

04

Adaptive & Assisted Learning

Adaptive lessons and equine assisted learning for neurodivergent and special needs students, guided by Jam's special education training and a patient, one-on-one approach.

05

Christian Camps & Clubs

Christian horse day camps and clinics around holidays and school breaks, plus the Christian Horse Lover's Club, where Bible study meets time in the barn.

06

Shows, Parties & Arena

Horse show coaching on a lesson horse or your own, birthday party packages full of rides and activities, and arena rental for haul-in lessons.

First-Time Moments

The look on their face the first time they do it themselves.

This is what we are really teaching. Every card is a real rider, a real first, a real moment of "I did it."

From Our Families

Families do not just take lessons here. They vouch for us.

★★★★★

"My child has ADHD and has become more focused and done better in school as a result of his lessons."

Satisfied Parent
★★★★★

"I am nearing fifty and decided it was time to do a few things I always wanted to but never had the nerve to. Fear and anxiety are my biggest enemies, but after an afternoon on Jack the horse with Jam patiently easing me through the basics, I believe there may be hope for me yet. She is so in tune with her student's weaknesses. I was impressed, and I have only had one lesson. Can't wait for the next."
